A fueling facility in Tanknology’s Midwest region requested a TankCam® inspection of an 12,000-gallon steel tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held diesel.

The TankCam inspection was requested after the annular space was found filled with diesel. The inspection showed about two inches of product in the tank and corrosion in the ATG riser. Sludge was found on the tank bottom and oxidation was seen throughout the tank.

A fueling facility in Tanknology’s Midwest region requested a TankCam® inspection of an 7,000-gallon steel tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The customer also requested a TankClean Remote Video UST Cleaning System. The tank held premium unleaded.

The TankCam inspection showed bubbles caused by slight nitrogen pressure in several areas. Multiple loose striker plates were found on the tank bottom. Corrosion was visible within the ATG riser and oxidation was seen throughout the tank. Heavy sludge was visible on the tank bottom prior to TankClean.

The TankCam inspection showed a visible crack on the side wall. Blisters were visible on a tank end dome and the ball was missing from the ball float and seen on the bottom of the tank. A patch was visible at the tank bottom and residue was found at the product line.

The TankCam inspection showed widespread internal discoloration. The inspection also revealed areas of what appeared to be liquid staining in the lower half of the tank. No active ingress was observed at the time of the inspection.

The TankCam inspection showed multiple cracks in the tank walls, with most appearing along the tank rib lines. The lower half of the tank walls were partially obscured by a build-up of sludge and residue, and the lower tank walls exhibited blistering and a possible pinhole.

The TankCam inspection found a previously unknown bung next to STP. The inspection also found visible corrosion on the tank side walls and top. Corrosion tubercles were visible on the tank top and dirt, sediment and debris were found on the tank bottom.

The TankCam inspection showed possible cracks on the tank side wall and blisters visible throughout the tank. Peeling was found on the lower portion of tank sidewall and flaking was seen near the tank bungs. Exposed tank fibers were visible on the tank side walls.

The TankCam inspection showed residue along the tank walls and sediment and debris at the bottom of the tank. Flaking can be seen around the tank top as well as the upper side walls. The inspection also shows fibers visible along the side walls of the tanks and several areas of concern that look to be cracks.

A municipal facility in Tanknology’s Southwest region requested a TankCam® inspection of an 8,000-gallon fiberglass tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held regular unleaded.

The TankCam inspection showed severe peeling and flaking of the tank material at the tank top and upper portion of the tank side walls. Tank fibers were visible in some areas on tank side walls. The tank also contained product that partially obscured the tank bottom.
