Tank Trouble Tuesday

Oct 202020
A fueling facility in Tanknology’s Midwest region requested a TankCam inspection of a 15,000 gallon fiberglass tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held premium unleaded.
The TankCam inspection showed that the tank bottom contained sediment and a small amount of residual liquid while oxidation and corrosion covered the STP shaft.

A fueling facility in Tanknology’s Midwest region requested a TankCam inspection of a 10,000 gallon fiberglass tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held premium unleaded.
The TankCam inspection showed sediment and debris on the tank bottom. When vacuum was pulled on the tank, bubbling was observed at one end of the tank. The bubbles appeared to be coming from a crack or hole in the lower tank wall or tank bottom. Peeling was observed at the tank seam and blistering was observed on a large area of tank wall and on the endcap.
