Tank Trouble Tuesday

Jan 062026

A fueling facility in Tanknology’s Southeast region requested a TankCam® inspection of a 6,000-gallon fiberglass tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held diesel.

The TankCam inspection showed corrosion in the ATG riser and bungs at the tank top. Multiple star shaped cracks were found on the tank side walls. Two additional, unused bungs were found in the tank.

TankCam® video inspection services from Tanknology help you detect UST problems with no need for excavation or manned entry. TankCam is patent pending.

A fueling facility in Tanknology’s Southeast region requested a TankCam® inspection of a 6,000-gallon fiberglass tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held diesel.

The TankCam inspection showed corrosion in the ATG riser and residue visible along the product line on the tank walls. Corrosion was found in the bungs at the tank top and on the ball float and a crack formation was seen on the tank side wall. Dirt, sludge and trash, including an old fill tube, tank stick and spring ball float, were found on the tank bottom.

TankCam® video inspection services from Tanknology help you detect UST problems with no need for excavation or manned entry. TankCam is patent pending.
