Tank Trouble Tuesday
A fueling facility in Tanknology’s Southeast region requested a TankCam® inspection of a 8,000-gallon fiberglass tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held regular unleaded.
The TankCam inspection showed considerable peeling and flaking at tank top and upper portion of side walls. Tank fibers were visible in some areas on tank side walls. The tank also contained product that partially obscured the tank bottom.

A fueling facility in Tanknology’s Gulf Coast region requested a TankCam® inspection of a 6,000 gallon steel tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank super unleaded.
The TankCam inspection showed water ingress on the tank bottom near the striker plate along with puddles of liquid. Oxidation was seen along the tank side walls and tank top and corrosion was found on the tank top. Sludge, dirt and debris were visible on the tank bottom. The inspection also showed deflection within the tank.

The TankCam inspection showed peeling of resin and tank material at the tank top. The inspection also showed multiple visible water ingress locations on the tank side wall.
